To all Petmir Blog Fans!!

                             Looking back on the months gone by,
                          As a new year starts and an old one ends,
                            We contemplate what brought us joy,
                     And we think of our loved ones and our friends.

                                 Recalling all the happy times,
                         Remembering how they enriched our lives,
                              We reflect upon who really counts,
                           As the fresh and bright new year arrives.

                                 And when I ponder those who do,
                                      I immediately think of you.

   Thanks for being one of the reasons I'll have a Happy New Year!

Evergreen boughs that fill our homes
With fragrant Christmas scents,
Hearts filled with the loving glow
That Christmas represents;

Christmas cookies, turkeys stuffed,
Festive holly berry,
Little faces bright with joy,
Loved ones being merry;

Parties, songs, beribboned gifts,
Silver bells that tinkle,
Christmas trees and ornaments,
Colorful lights that twinkle;

Relatives waiting with open arms
To smile and hug and kiss us;
These are some of the special joys
That come along with Christmas

Increasing Number of Restaurants Owned by Immigrants

A quarter of all privately owned restaurants in Helsinki are owned by members of the immigrant population. The restaurant sector also provides significantly more work to immigrants than other sectors.
Around a third of all immigrant restaurant owners originate from Turkey, according to Heikki Lankinen, Head of Research at the Finnish Hospitality Association.
"Next come owners from countries such as Vietnam, Iraq, China, the former Yugoslavia and Iran," he adds.
Lankinen believes that this is trend which is set to continue.
"The restaurant industry is one which generally offers a lot of employment to immigrants, as people tend to have less reservations about applying for jobs in the restaurant trade than they do in many other areas."
There are around 2,400 companies operating in the capital region whose owners have foreign backgrounds. This accounts for around half of all foreign-owned businesses in the country.

Heidi Montag: Learning to Defend Herself

She’s openly admitted that she and husband Spencer Pratt are broke, and now Heidi Montag is learning martial arts because she can no longer pay for personal security.
The former “Hills” star told Radar Online, "I can't afford security, so I practice self-defense and chain punching."
Adding, Heidi dished, "I have had to change my life. I can't afford to go out to the clubs anymore because the sort of protection I need can cost anywhere from 5 to 10 thousand dollars a night...That is actually where all my money went because safety is number one."
On a positive note, the insecure star may be benefiting from the martial arts classes as well. She said, "It gives me confidence I didn't have before. I am doing this self-defense because it gives me inner strength, and I feel safe in my home."

Cancer-Battling Michael Douglas: Disney World Family Fun

Not letting his medical woes stop him from enjoying life, Michael Douglas took Catherine Zeta Jones and their children to Disney World, Florida for a family holiday getaway.
Spotted on Wednesday (November 24), the "Wall Street" star and his lovely wife joined son Dylan, 10, and daughter Carys, 7, in posing alongside Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in front of the Epcot theme park Christmas tree in Lake Buena Vista
The family trip comes just under a week after Michael and Catherine celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on November 18th.
As for Doulas's health, Radar Online recently reported that after two months of chemo treatment, Michael is finally on the road to recovery after suffering from throat cancer.
Fortunately, Douglas already has his appetite back and is able to gain weight again. According to Dr Kent Holtorf, that is positive sign that he “is likely in the recovery stage.”
